American Ohio revised plush toy reporting method
On August 13, Ohio amended the Bedding and Stuffed Toy Reporting Law, reducing the number of documents that plush toy manufacturers must submit to the Department of Commerce Division of Industrial Compliance (DOC) each year.
Over the past year, the Toy Industry Association (TIA) has been advocating this change to reduce the paperwork burden of toy companies and simplify reporting.
Since October 1 this year, manufacturers and importers have to submit only one annual report on imported or Ohio-made plush toys or bedding and related project costs, and cancel the current twice a year. DOC will mail all reports and renewal invoices, which must be completed and submitted to the Department together with the related costs of the project. All reporting cycles are 12 months after the end of the last reporting period.
